Quercetin – A Flavonoid :A Systematic Review
نویسنده
چکیده
Quercetin which belongs to a group of plant pigments called flavonoids which help give many fruits, flowers and vegetables their colours. Such flavonoids, such as Quercetin also act as anti-oxidants. They hunt and neutralise the free radicals which damage cell membranes, change the DNA structure and also cause cell death. Quercetin is also believed to help protection against several degenerative diseases by preventing lipid peroxidation. However, the degree and method of Quercetin’s in vivo absorption s yet to be determined. This review provides a survey of literature regarding flavonoids in general, but more specifically on Quercetin.

The effect of quercetin on stress The Effect of Quercetin on Stress Oxidative Markers: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Clinical Trialsers; A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled clinical trials
Background: Quercetin is one of the main flavonoids, overall distributed in plants. The antioxidant capacity of quercetin is several times vitamin E and glutathione. This systematic review and meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials were performed to determine the effect of quercetin on oxidative stress (OS) markers. Methods: A literature search was conducted in PubMed, ISI Web of Science...
متن کاملThe beneficial effect of the flavonoid quercetin on behavioral changes in hemi-Parkinsonian rats
Introduction: A large body of experimental evidence supports a role for oxidative stress as a mediator of nerve cell death in Parkinson's disease (PD). Flavonoids like quercetin have been reported to prevent neuronal degeneration caused by increased oxidative burden, therefore, this study examined whether quercetin administration at a high dose would attenuate behavioral abnormalities in e...
متن کاملMetabolism of Quercetin and Naringenin by Food-Grade Fungal Inoculum, Rhizopus azygosporus Yuan et Jong (ATCC 48108).
Rhizopus azygosporus Yuan et Jong (ATCC 48108), a starter culture for fermented soybean tempeh, produces β-glucosidases that cleave flavonoid glycosides into aglycones during fermentation. However, recent data suggest that fermentation of a flavonoid glycoside-rich extract with this strain did not result in the production of aglycones. Thus, in this paper, flavonoid metabolism of this strain wa...
متن کاملFlavonoid Glycosides from Tribulus terrestris L. orientalis
Tribulus terrestris L. var. orientalis (Kerner) G. Beck is widely used in the traditional medicine of many countries. Several flavonoides are identified from the plant material. Aerial parts which collected from northeast of Iran are used in this study. Three flavonoid glycosides were isolated and characterized. The flovonoids were found to be based on quercetin...
متن کاملQuercetin- A Mini Review
Quercetin a flavonoid to be a member of a group of flavonols is universally consumed in the human diet and responsibly to give the color to various fruits and vegetables [1]. Mainly occur in the form of glycosides, but their other derivative have been identified [2-5]. This paper presents some recent advances regarding quercetin structure, derivatives, sources and their medicinal benefits with ...
